The years seem to whizz by more and more quickly with each passing year and 2014 was no exception. Thankfully I have little snippets of the year to look back on, captured for the hours in 2014.
The hours was a collaborative project in 2014 that I was lucky enough to be involved in, together with a wonderful bunch of photographers from around the world. The aim of the project was to capture the hours of the day, throughout the year, from 7.00am to 6.00pm — one hour, one image — for each month of the year. My personal aim for this project was to try to capture an image for each month that best encapsulated that time of day for that particular month.
So here is our year by the hour in 2014 …
7.00am — January in Colorado
8.00am — February found us back in Western Australia and walking to school for the start of the new school year
9.00am — March meant beautiful weekend mornings at the beach as summer continued
10.00am — April and two weeks of school holidays and a little old rabbit feeling poorly
11.00am — May brought cooler weather, falling frangipani and needing a hot shower after swimming
12.00pm — June saw this little lunatic settling into our menagerie and making herself at home on my desk
1.00pm — July school holidays and a wet winter in Western Australia
2.00pm — August and the first signs of spring were everywhere
3.00pm — September danced in with concerts, competitions and her first ever pointe shoes
4.00pm — October ended with a twisted ankle from a silly tumble wearing two cameras whilst climbing large rocks to get a view of the Optimist action offshore
5.00pm — November spring and sunny smiles with the removal of his braces after two years
6.00pm — December evening sun and the excitement and scent of christmas as the year rolls on out to an end

And the great thing is … we get to do it all again in 2015!
Your year was stunning! Thank you for sharing it this way. Also, I would be remiss in not sharing with you that I am now a huge fan of your work. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve simply been mesmerized by the way you capture such beautiful light and color in your images. You also have a killer eye for composition. Can’t wait to see how 2015 unfold for you !
Thank you Stephanie — what a lovely comment! I am so glad you have joined us for the hours in 2015 and I really look forward to seeing the year through your eyes
